Adebisi/Alvarez, Adebisi/O'Reily - Written for the Cuff 'em, Vamp 'em or Just Make 'em Come Already Kink Challenge and boy did Oz get a good run from that idea (all four recs below are from this challenge). A drug induced haze causes all sorts of visions to dance through Adebsisi's brain, surreal and tantalising and soaking in sweaty bodies. A rare and convincing characterisation of Adebisi too.

Last Night on Earth by Llama
Beecher/Keller - Beecher's on death row and Keller still won't leave him behind. It's a brave and difficult subject and new comer to Oz fic Llama does wonderful things with the idea. The ending kicked me in the stomach and left me thinking, "wow."

January 1 by Rustler
Beecher/Keller - So what happened in Beecher and Keller's pod after lights out on New Year's Eve? There has to be hundreds of variations on the theme in the fic alone but who can resist one more? Especially when it's hot and *kinky*?

Alvarez/Father Ray - Alvarez is slipping in and out of reality and Father Ray gives in to temptation. This story has an ethereal quality, a side-effect of Alvarez's mental instability and the lines of Spanish. It all creates a powerful impact.

Two Things by Mandy
Keller/ O'Reily - and not in a nice way. Too real to be good for you. Keller is almost human and O'Reily is angry. Nasty, brutal and not nice - the kind of story that makes fanfic so great

Shelter by Tboy
Ryan/Cyril - Yes, in *that* way. It might be incest but don't let that keep you away. This is a story that not only paints a credible background for this relationship to happen but makes it something extraordinary in the face of that background. A little sad, a little thought provoking.

Twelve Hours in Tobias Beecher's Life by Aline
Beecher/Keller - An AU where Beecher gets caught in the middle of a Keller heist. This story juxtaposes Beecher's recollection of events with the story he tells the police highlighting Beecher's confusion and anxiety. Hot, gripping and damn fine story telling.

Communion by Dori
Beecher/ Keller - Keller thinks about religion, good vs evil, Christmas and Toby. A beautiful, powerful story, full of pathos and poetry.

Helping Hand by Rustler
Hill/ Dobbins - a story about an unusual alliance. Rustler takes a look inside the head of Augustus Hill to find out what turns him on. Sweet and just a little tragic.

Chrysalis by Mandy
Two stories from Mandy because they're both delicious and good Oz fic must be shared around. This one is also Beecher/ Keller and takes a bit of a turn in events in that Keller's sentence is overturned not long after Beecher gets parol. Life on the outside for both of them is just a fucked up.

Descent by Rustler
A rare Augustus Hill fic that makes the connection between loss of freedom and the loss of something tangible - and OH, it just gets you in the end. Something short and powerful.

Poison by Mandy
Beecher/ Keller - an alternative riff on the ending of Oz. A tragic portrait of a tragic relationship. I like that this isn't so much a happy spin on events but the option that comes close. Some other Oz regulars make brief but memorable appearances including McManus and Sister Pete.
